Reiki y Gatos / Cats & Reiki

Los gatos son los grandes incomprendidos, quizás porque su actitud no sea de servilismo como la del perro, sino la de compañeros, y no todo el mundo comprende qué significa tener a este ser de compañero. Quizás por eso he llegado a oír que los gatos no aceptan Reiki, pero eso es solo puro desconocimiento de estos compañeros y amigos con los que compartimos planeta.

Nuestra relación con él será de igual a igual, y no todo el mundo está preparado para digerir esto.

Pero es muy sencillo comprenderles porque no son tan distintos a nosotros como pudiera parecernos. Al igual que debemos obtener permiso de otro ser humano antes de tratarle con Reiki, lo mismo pasa con estos pequeños seres.  Si de repente y sin previo aviso, les plantamos las manos y empezamos a emitir Reiki, es normal que se sientan ofendidos, ya que no les hemos preguntado si querían un tratamiento.

Al igual que nos pasa como seres humanos, no estamos siempre en disposición de recibir esta energía sanadora, porque dependemos de cómo nos encontramos o en qué momento del día estamos. Si por ejemplo estamos ocupados o activos, quizás no sea ese el mejor momento para relajarnos y recibir un tratamiento de Reiki, ¡pues lo mismo pasa con los gatos!

Soy una enamorada de los animales en general, me gustan todos y aprendo mucho de ellos, pero hace bastantes años que he tenido a alguno de estos seres formando parte de mi núcleo familiar.

Debemos acordarnos de pedirles permiso, para ello comenzaremos a darles Reiki mientras les acariciamos, si con cada caricia notamos que nos sale más Reiki en un lugar en particular, iremos parando sobre ese lugar un minuto como máximo y vemos cómo lo va aceptando.  Si te mira como incomodado, no pares en esa zona más de 5 segundos, mientras sigues acariciando con Reiki.  Poco a poco vas ampliando tu parada en esa zona hasta ver si él lo acepta.  Es muy posible que así sea, pero si no quiere,  intentaremos separar las manos de su cuerpecillo para que reciba Reiki sin contacto.  Y sí aun así nos mira como diciendo: ahora no por favor;  simplemente lo respetamos, al igual que haríamos con un compañero humano. Porque Reiki respeta ante todo el libre albedrío de todo ser vivo.

Si vemos que él nos pide Reiki, por ejemplo cuando nos estamos haciendo auto tratamiento, a veces se sube encima para recibir el Reiki residual que desprendemos o bien pidiéndolo directamente con un maullido o un ronroneo, entonces le ponemos las manos y si se queda quietecito y cómodo, es posible que no se encuentre bien, por ello debemos prestar mucha atención a qué nos dicen nuestras manos según le vamos tratando con Reiki. También pudiera ser que simplemente necesite un poco de energía extra, por ello debemos prestar atención a nuestro propio código de manos.

Cats are always misunderstood; maybe because they don’t have a servility attitude like dogs do, but a comrade way of being, this makes people rarely understand what it is to have these beings as companions. Maybe this is also the reason why I’ve heard that cats do not accept Reiki, but this idea is only based on ignorance regarding these little companions and friends with whom we share planet.

Our relation with them is in equality and not everyone is ready to digest this.

But it is very simple because they are not that different from us as it might firstly seem. In the same way as we need to have permission from other human beings before treating them with Reiki, this will also apply to cats. If we suddenly impose ourselves by laying our hands on them and start giving them Reiki, it is normal that they feel offended, because we haven’t asked them if they wanted a Reiki treatment.

As humans we are not always in the mood to receive this healing energy because we depend on how we feel or the moment we are living, we might probably be in a rush or too busy to settle down for a Reiki treatment, well, the same happens with cats!

I love all animals and I learn a lot from them, and for many years we have had one of these beings form part as a family member.

We should remember to ask permission, to do this we will give Reiki while we are stroking our cat, if we notice that more Reiki comes out in a certain area, during our stroking we will stop a little bit when we come to that part, staying one minute as a maximum time and see how he is accepting it. If he looks at you with discomfort, continue stroking him but only stop there a few seconds, not more than 5 seconds and keep stroking. Bit by bit start increasing your stops a bit longer and see how he is accepting it. Which he probably will, but if he doesn’t, then separate your hands from his body and see if he accepts Reiki without a direct contact. If he still looks at you like saying: not now, please; then we just simply respect him as we would to a fellow human being. Because Reiki respects the free will of every living being.

If our cat asks to receive Reiki, for example by laying on our lap and receiving the residual energy from us while we are doing a self-treatment, or even asking for it directly with a meow or a purr, then we will gently lay our hands and if he stays calmed and quiet, he might be telling us he is not feeling too well, therefore we should pay attention to what our hands are perceiving during the treatment. It could also be that he just need a bit of extra energy, so we should pay special care on our hand code interpretation.
