A quote from Stephen Covey that made a change in my life / Una cita de Stephen Covey que marcó un cambio en mi vida.

Stephen Covey deceased this week and it has made me think on how a quote from this man made a change in my life. 

I read it in his book, '7 Habits of Highly Effective People', and the quote is:

If you keep doing what you are doing, you’ll keep getting what you are getting.

It sounds simple, doesn’t it? And at the same it is communicating so much... Whether we are happy doing our life’s purpose or we are unhappy and stuck in a living we do not want. But this does not only regard to our path, but also to what we do to ourselves as physical and spiritual beings.

It has incredible logic and this quote has been a waking up call to me.  I have it very present in my life at such extend that when I leave the path of what I like doing or what makes me feel is my life’s purpose, this quote comes to my mind, reminding me that it is me who is at the wheel driving myself through this journey that I am experiencing.

A repeated or wrong thought, conduct or attitude can easily divert me from my aim and I wouldn’t have noticed that I was doing;  it is in those moments when this quote makes again its appearance.

Thank you Stephen, I wish you the best in your new stage, I am sure you are inspiring other beings the same as you have done with us who are still living here under a physical outfit.

El fallecimiento en esta semana de Stephen Covey  me ha hecho reflexionar en cómo una frase o cita de éste hombre puso en marcha muchas cosas en mi vida.

La encontré en su libro “Los 7 hábitos de la gente altamente efectiva” y es ésta:

Si sigues haciendo lo que estás haciendo, seguirás obteniendo lo que estás obteniendo.

¿Sencilla, verdad? Y a la vez comunica tantas cosas... Tanto si estamos haciendo lo que nos gusta y obteniendo los resultados esperados, como si no estamos haciendo lo que nos inspira y estamos atascados e infelices.  Pero no solo en nuestro camino, sino también lo que nos hacemos a nosotros mismos, como seres físicos y como seres espirituales.

Tiene una lógica aplastante y para mí esa frase supuso una llamada a despertar.  La tengo muy presente en mi vida, tanto que cuando me desvío un poco de lo que me gusta hacer o de lo que le da sentido a mi vida, esta frase vuelva a mi memoria, recordándome que soy yo quien está al volante conduciéndome en mi camino de la vida.

Un pensamiento, una conducta o una actitud repetitiva y equivocada, puede fácilmente desviarme de lo que quiero obtener y ni siquiera me he dado cuenta que lo estaba haciendo;  es en esos momentos cuando vuelve a aparecer esta frase.

Gracias Stephen, te deseo lo mejor en tu nueva etapa y seguro que estas inspirando a otros seres como nos inspiraste a los que estamos caminando como seres físicos.
